Easter Follow Up

Here are some pictures from Easter and the visit of Justin's sister Danielle, and her family. (We end up seeing a lot more of his sister Kim who lives in North Salt Lake when Danielle is here too...so some pics also have her family.)

This doesn't at all capture the amount of people AND CHILDREN we've had in and out of our house the past few weeks. :) The kids had a lot of fun together and it's always nice for the adults to catch up.

So the Easter cookie experiment went pretty well. We started out the event with an Easter primary song and prayer to get the kids in a quiet, paying attention kind of mood. We then migrated to the kitchen and went into the cookie making, taking turns between adults and kids old enough to read on the many scripture passages.

There was one point in the recipe when we needed to leave them mixing for 12-15 minutes so we ended up going back in the front room to sing more primary songs. That alone was pretty fun because it's not often we get to do those types of things with extended family.

All in all I think the resurrection cookie idea was a success in getting every one to think more about Christ than the Easter bunny. I do believe I will make it a tradition...only next year I will make each cookie smaller and more round so that maybe they will be more obviously hollow. I could tell they were hollow but it wasn't super evident to the kids. They tasted very sugary....as they are mostly made of sugar...they were alright. And alright works for me when the making of them is such a positive experience.

Way cute Easter baskets! Good job Easter Bunny! Were these taken when Joshua wasn't feeling good? He looks a little peked. Cute pics with all the cousins! And whose gigantic slipper shoes are those?? CUTE!
