So my little sister, who is sometimes still a little girl in my dreams, just had her first baby early May 5th..(.which all of you probably know because you are likely all my family members...but I'm gonna pretend you're not for now. :))
I am so overwhelmed with emotion about it, I'm really surprising myself. She is the first family member to have any children since I've had my own. It all changes when you have been through parenthood yourself and now you see someone you love entering into such a sacred, special experience-opportunity that will change them forever. I am just so happy for her I can't get over it. I also have really enjoyed seeing my parent's (especially my mother's) joy over her new grand-baby.
I have a family full of special and wonderful mothers. Little Brightyn has to have been so excited to come down to two driven, overachieving, fun and loving parents. I am so grateful and happy to have her (and her mama) in our family and hope that we are all able to stay very close through out these children's lives. I miss the family closeness that was there before we all went off and got families of our own....but I'm hoping with a little effort to get the best of both worlds. Every time in our lives turns out to be such a special time when we can look back at the whole picture.
We love you Brightyn! Welcome to your new home!

My own baby sister just had her first baby last August. It is so wonderful to have this new bond with her that we didn't have before...being a mom. She looks adorable, congratulations to you auntie! And Happy Mothers Day to both of you!!
You voice so many of my own sentiments. It IS pretty amazing to see your baby sister, and MY baby--have her own! We all knew this day would someday arrive, yet it is still a surprising and brand new feeling to actually watch it unfold. Almost indescribable. But definitely joyous. I am so blessed to be 'Grandma' to 8 adorable and healthy grandchildren! Blessings from Heaven--each one.
How did I miss this post? Anyway, so sweet Amby. Thank you for being so excited and for all of your sweet words. :) It is SO exciting and I'm glad I have an older sister to support me and to go to when I need advice/help. And YES, I do plan on visiting more now that I am jobless....well....not really job less because I have the biggest, most important job in the WORLD now. :) But, technically unemployed almost. Once Brightyn is a little older I plan on many trips to the park, picnic's, and fun outings with you and your family. :) I am excited to experience you, Justin, Trish, etc. as an Aunt's and Uncle's for my first time since I haven't been able to experience that role yet. You are a great Aunt already because I can feel how much you love our little Brightyn! Love you and thank you for making Brightyn and I's mornings.
