Spontaneous Vaca to Arches National Park

SO, I'm not in the mood to tell how this all came to pass BUT it was so wonderful to spend this weekend with my little (okay, big really) family!  I feel like we had so much bonding between all the children and parents between our hikes, the hotel, and swimming.  We really PLAYED so much and I loved seeing Justin and the kids playing so much too.  We did do more than hike around Arched National Park, BUT those were the only pictures I took!  Man!

The original intention was to camp....but to cut the story short....between TEENSY camp sites, or nat infested camp sites (and a state wide fire restriction) we decided to get a room for 2 nights.....with the Suburban outside all loaded up with our camping gear.  Ha!  One good thing about that was at least we saved money on a few of the meals and ate some camping food.

We spent lots and lots of time in Arches and left with so much more to see for next time.  We also drove around the slick rock in Moab, and found good camping for next time if we go earlier in the year and checked out the awesome rock shop in town.  (That's how you can tell how much Justin loves me, he stopped at the rock shop! :))

Time to enjoy some pics of amazing southeastern Utah!
(the baby was in the car for this pic)

LOVE these glasses on this boy!

The big boys hikin around near Balanced Rock
The next picture is much cooler when rotated....computer not cooperating :)
                                                      Right under Balanced Rock

To top it all off, on the way home we found out Justin was unemployed (not really a sad story, and already a much prettier picture is being painted) SO we spent the next day at Seven Peaks and played some more.  Phew!  Now I just need to clean the house!

Wow! What great pictures!! That balanced rock thing is pretty scary! So was it way hot outside? Everyone looks very happy and like they're having fun! I bet jumping in a pool felt WON-DER-FUL after that hot, dusty, hiking stuff!! Sounds like just what the doctor ordered for the fam!! So glad ya'll had such a great time! (and so glad you took some pics!)
